my creative space

It's that time of year again...

when I convince myself that even though I have struggled to do anything crafty all year, now I will miraculously be able to make all our christmas gifts.

So I have embarked on that journey, as mad and overwhelming as that may be, because in the end, even after all the late nights, it is so nice to give someone something you have made, with love.

The kids are in on the project to, although they seem to be lacking in enthusiasm already.

Pop over here for more crafty inspiration

Thanks to Roald Dahl's 'Georges Marvelous Medicine' my children are into mixing up all sorts of wonderful potions. I am terrified they will get to it and mix something dreadful while I am not looking, and then drink it, in hope of growing out through the roof of the house. Thanks Mr Dahl!

  1. i adore everything handmade.. and it's not always possible to make every gift, but when you do make the time to make the gift... it's worth that much more. love the photos you shared.

  2. Handmade gifts are just the best and as Ana said it's the time and love that goes into them that makes them so special .

  3. I too have decided to make everything! Ha!! We are certainly crazy women. But I am having a lovely time of it. Those potions sure look like fun too...and bravo on your decision about schooling. As a prep teacher in the state system (in my previou life before my poppet came along) I agree wholeheartedly. Teachers do their utmost to let children blossom in their own time but when there is pressure from above to reach certain benchmarks by a certain is tough! I am thinking about the Steiner option myself. Hope it all goes brilliantly for you :)

  4. Oh my kids love that story! Handmade is so personal and nice :-)
